I’m just finishing up the last of the Portugal / Spain shoot of my new Camino movie, The Way, Her Way.
We fly back on the weekend to continue shooting in Australia.
It’s been a gloriously intense time. We could not have wished for better weather. The crew and cast clicked immediately and I have to say it’s been the happiest filming experience Jennifer and I have ever had.
But we’re seasoned enough filmmakers to know that a great shoot doesn’t always translate into a great movie.
Oftentimes it’s the reverse.
So I have to keep my focus and total attention on every aspect of the production.
That’s why it’s not been possible for me to reply to your wonderful and at times truly humbling comments on social media. I read them all, but I simply do not have the time to respond because directing a motion picture just requires everything from me.
Everything.
So please understand that I’m deeply touched by your comments – and don’t stop communicating with me, please, because I love to hear from you – but please do accept this blog post as an apology – and I will try to get back to you once this immensely creative time is over,
