Dear Bill, when I was at the local library in Odense (H.C Anderson’s birthplace) in Denmark with my sister-in-law a couple of weeks ago, they were showing some of Steve McCurry’s photos. My sister-in-law (who used to work in social services, particularly for migrants and, as they’re called in Denmark, foreign workers) was totally besotted by the photos shown – small world, eh?!
Well, his work is widely known. When Jen and I were in Umbria, we noticed there were Steve McCurry tours being advertised. I got excited thinking that Steve McCurry would be leading the tours, but it turned out the tours were to go to places which he had photographed in a book on Umbria! Ha!
