Some pics from Los Angeles

I’ve been in Los Angeles now about a week. On Tuesday Jennifer and I fly home. We’ll have spent nearly a month in the US.

We’ve driven nearly 4,500 miles – met some truly wonderful people – and workwise it’s been very worthwhile.

Here are some shots I took on a walk last night and again this afternoon around the Venice Beach area.

  1. Ah, love the one with the surfer dude and the girl in pink centered in the window/photo 🙂 and how American can you get with the little flat on the rowboat?! Have a great trip home and hope to see you on the 2nd with all the other Camino crazies!!

      • Thanks Britta – yes that shot of the girl with the surfer is a nice pic. Why is he looking at her? Yet she’s looking straight ahead. I love shots where there’s an embedded story in the image. A story with a question.

And yes, it was the flag around the prow of the boat that made the shot for me. That was in the canals at the back of Venice. My goodness there are some extraordinary houses there!

  2. Love, love, love these photos. Especially the guy in black and the surfer dude and girl in the expresso shop. I’m glad to hear that your trip was worth it work wise. Safe travels home! Julie

    • Thank you thank you thank you Julie! And thanks for the well wishes traveling home. We come home to minus 1 degree Celsius in Mudgee, after summer weather here in California. Argh!

        • winter in mudgee is bitterly cold Julie – especially as all the houses are built for an Australian summer, so there are no decent seals on doors and windows etc. It gets down to about 20 degreesF – that’s cold for us in Australia, and we don’t have the beauty of snow to ameliorate it!

  3. Morning Bill and Jennifer. Looks like your stay is coming to an end. I’m certainly pleased that I finally had a chance to meet you both in person. I feel fortunate that I got to spend some quality time with you both as well as the fun time with Steve.

Safe travels back home and I look forward to our next visit whether it be in Italy or in Mudgee!

    Love to you both,

    • Hi Jill, it was one of the highlights of our trip to meet you. And to have Steve fly across from Texas to meet us too was so special, and so wonderful. I hope we all meet up again very soon!

Jennifer too sends her love –

      • Bill,

It was really great spending time with you and Jennifer and doing it with Jill made it so much more special. We really had a great time together, I thought.

Was the trip really worth it to sell one $20,000 unit to Jill and me? HaHa. Yeah, I think so.

At least you are going home with a commitment. I am sure you plowed some fertile ground and I am sure the crop will come forth soon.

Have a safe trip home and keep us posted on what is going on. Let us know when we need to come to Australia to check on our investment.

    • I thought he was writing a very prophetic message. There are a few sooth sayers along the Venice boardwalk. That is actually an understatement. Kind of like a day at the zoo, with all the animals being humans. At least mostly. But a fun place.
