Message to Satan –

I went for a walk today –
This came up on my playlist.
Thought of you Satan…

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith
And I was round when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
Cause I'm in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down

Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame...

  1. My rocker Mate, Bill,

Where do you come up with this stuff? I am listening to this on my computer as I write this comment, and I can truthfully say I have never heard this song, or if I did it did not leave a lasting memory. Now, No Satisfaction, that is a different story.

  2. Hey Bill and Steve,

Nothing to do with rain jackets, but I just learned of waterproof socks. A couple of APOC Chapter members were talking about them last Sunday. I’m going to get some for the tour.

My boots were waterproof and still my feet got wet; rain soaked my socks and that went down into the waterproof boots.

BTW, I’m under the same rock as Steve and Donna, never heard that song either! And being between Steve and Bill in age, I loved both the Stones and Elvis, go figure stuck in between 2 generations of music and loving both!

  3. Now you’re talkingโ€ฆ.the cricket. Thank goodness the storm didn’t stop the game. It was short but a cracker. We got hail before we got the rain.

    Bring on the second test.!!!

  4. So this is what happens when I disappear down a dirt road to an ashram for a few days … penis rings, dubious music choices and the cricket … gotta love the PGS!! Good night from Sydney ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Britta –

you should put it in the proper order of priority – instead of “penis rings, dubious music choices and the cricket,” it needs to be “The cricket, dubious music choices and penis rings.”

Steve though might have another order of priority!

      • Hey Mate, you pick the topics, the rest of us minions just comment and try to bring meaning to your scrambled thoughts.

  5. Bill! love the song and especially love how it must have struck you, as you heard it this time. We are all saints and sinners for sure! Love the various name dropping of the good old favorites! Yesterday the song Magic Carpet Ride, by Steppen Wolf, came on and I had to laugh and explained to my 17 yr old son that it was the very first record I bought, like the round black kind you play on a record player. I could only afford the single.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, grateful to get to occasionally participate in this circle of lively exchanges!

    • AHH, Kate, that’s one thing I miss when not in the US. My adopted American family always have the whole deal and my favourite is always the pekan pie – nothing better!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I usually manage to make myself sick with eating too much at Thanksgiving! So happy Thanksgiving to all you US dwellers on PGS ๐Ÿ™‚
